In keeping with its heritage which recognizes the value of music in people’s lives, Firestone and local partner Nile Projects & Trading have announced its latest campaign in Egypt, the ‘Mawaheb’ - a ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition, in collaboration with the country’s largest radio network MEGA FM.

The music competition, which is taking place over MEGA FM radio channel, started on March 1, 2021 and is set to run until April 1, 2021. Finalist bands will compete for the vote of FM’s audience to choose their favorite band. The winner will be announced on April 5, 2021.

Firestone seeks to honor the tradition started by founder Harvey S. Firestone who established the ‘Voice of Firestone’ radio broadcast in 1928 to make music accessible to people across the United States. The ‘Mawaheb’ campaign also marks Harvey Firestone’s 150th birth anniversary.

Stefano Sanchini, Regional Managing Director, Bridgestone MEA, said: “Firestone and our local partner Nile Projects & Trading are excited to collaborate with MEGA FM to hold the ‘Mawaheb’ competition. Amidst the challenges we face today, we hope to offer people a chance to enjoy life through music, which is very much close to Firestone’s heritage.”

Firestone as an iconic tyre brand is committed to share meaningful stories of its heritage which was built on reliability and strength, qualities that make it a trusted brand for its clientele, who are also looking to get value for money when it comes to buying tyres at a reasonable price.

“Harvey Firestone was a big fan of music and honored his customers seeking life’s enjoyment and relaxation through music after a hard-day’s work. We hope to embody the same spirit in today’s settings. Whether on the job or after work hours, Firestone is proud to bring our hardworking ‘bosses’, that is, our customers, the chance to enjoy a variety of music that help keep their lives rolling,” Sanchini concluded.

Firestone has been one of the leading tyres of choice by vehicle owners as the company products meet the demand for quality, safety, and performance while driving in Egypt. Firestone tyres are known for their impressive gripping qualities in extreme environment conditions, perfect for small- and medium-sized cars.
