Bridgestone Holds Opening Ceremony for New Operations Base in Australia

Operations base specializes in mining tire business development and offers training services related to mining operations
TOKYO (April 9, 2015) – Bridgestone Corporation today announced that the Bridgestone Institute Global Mining Solutions Pty. Limited (BIGS), a subsidiary* 1 of the Bridgestone Group that offers development and training services related to mining operations in Australia, held an opening ceremony of a new operations base, which it will manage. This operations base is the world’s first* 2 to specialize in mining tire business development and offer comprehensive solution services related to off-the-road tires for construction and mining vehicles (OR tires), belts and hoses.
The operations base will act as a global core base, offering support and services focused on optimizing mining tire customer operations in two primary areas:
1. Business development related to the following services, tools and tool packaging:
(A) Tire removal and installation
(B) OR tire repair services
(C) Wheel maintenance and repair
(D) B-TAG*3
(E) Software to manage tire condition
In addition, this operations base will help promote activities that support the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), including the disposal of spent tires (tires that have been taken out of use) and the development of combined services for belt and hose businesses in the future.
2. Training services related to OR tires and comprehensive solution services and programs for sales representatives and field engineers who work in mines across the globe.
The new operations base is another example of the Bridgestone Group’s continued commitment to developing support systems in response to market demands and to providing the highest quality products and services.
