Bridgestone's second ‘Tyre Safety & Eco Station’ campaign reveals huge success in Cairo and Alexandria Cairo, October 4, 2012 - For the second year in a row, Bridgestone launched its ‘Tyre Safety and Eco Station’ campaign aiming at enhancing road safety and reducing accidents. Developed by Bridgestone Middle East & Africa's office in Egypt in collaboration with its sole local distributer Nile Projects & Trading Co, the campaign aims to raise public awareness on the critical role of tyre safety and eco-driving habits through educating drivers on the proper maintenance of tyres, with the ultimate objective of minimizing road accidents. The two-week campaign was kicked off in Cairo from September 9th to 15th at City Centre Maadi, and then moved, for the first time, to City Centre Alexandria from September 22nd to 28th. The awareness and education campaign witnessed tremendous appeal among citizens of all backgrounds. Cairo's campaign received more than 3,000 visitors which is a 50% increase over last year's event, while the campaign in Alexandria attracted 2,500 visitors. The high traffic at the booths demonstrated visitors’ willingness to learn about safer and environmentally-friendly driving. The ‘Tyre Safety & Eco Station’ campaign in Cairo was graced by an array of prominent figures and celebrities including Mr. Ahmed Yehia, Bridgestone’s North Arab & Africa Branch General Manager; Colonel Dr. Ayman El Dabaa, at the Central Traffic Administration and Eng. Mohamed El Naggar, General Manager of Nile Projects & Trading Co. Mr. Ahmed Yehia concluded, “Bridgestone, as one of the leading global companies, has a significant track record of giving back to the communities where it works and lives. Thus, the Tyre Safety campaign has been concurrently launched in Egypt, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Future plans will include Morocco as well.”
