Bridgestone to Engage and Educate Fans at “ADAC Zurich 24-hour race‘ in Germany

Tokyo (May 25, 2016) - Bridgestone Corporation (Bridgestone) announced that it will highlight several products at a fan-focused exhibit during a four-day period at the ADAC Zurich 24-hour Race, held on the Nürburgring Circuit in Germany, from May 26-29, 2016.

The world-famous Nürburgring Circuit is known for its demanding vehicle development enviroment. Beginning with Bridgestone's development of original equipment (OE) tires for Porsches and Ferraris in the 1980s, which represented the first time a Japanese-made tire was used as an OE tire for these vehicles. The Nürburgring Circuit continues to be an important location for a wide variety of Bridgestone tire development and motorsports activities.

At the Bridgestone exhibit, the company will introduce POTENZA, a global premium brand that was built on the foundation of circuit racing, including Nürburgring, through the "Bridgestone Motorsports × POTENZA History Corner." This interactive area will highlight Bridgestone's motorsports legacy, which has helped support the technology used to develop POTENZA. In doing so, Bridgestone will convey its passion for motorsports to all fans in attendance.

(1)Motor Sports/POTENZA Exhibit
In addition to displaying the POTENZA product lineup and several POTENZA-equipped vehicles, this exhibit area will engage fans and educate them about Bridgestone's 30-year history with motorsports through the "Bridgestone Motor Sports × POTENZA History Corner." The area will utilize historic products and materials, mainly for the European market to tell the Bridgestone motorsports story.

(2)DRIVEGUARD Exhibit
Bridgestone DRIVEGUARD tires utilize run-flat technology (RFT), which allows users to continue their drive up to 50 miles at 50 miles per hour after a puncture or loss of pressure. The DRIVEGUARD exhibit will communicate the merits of DRIVEGUARD through hands-on, virtual reality experiences and other display areas.

In addition to its fan-focused efforts at the ADAC Zurich 24-hour Race, which is the one of the world's largest participation-based motorsports events that attracts approximately 200,000 fans each year, Bridgestone will provide tires to Toyota Motor Corporation's race entry for the 10th consecutive year.

Through various motorsports activities, including the ADAC Zurich 24-hour Race, Bridgestone will continue to support the dreams, passion and emotions of motorsports fans.
